2025 in Review - Delivering Safer, Smarter Heating Solutions

As we close out 2025, we’re proud to reflect on a year of projects where our products have been utilised to solve real technical challenges across healthcare, education and secure environments. Each case study from the past 12 months tells a story not only of product performance, but also of problem-solving under demanding conditions — from live clinical wards to complex multi-site hospital programmes.

Highlights

We have been proud to be a part of some really interesting and challenging projects. Projects highlighted in 2025 have ranged from small 1 bedroom care facilities, right the way through to full hospital swap out which brings many different challenges. All projects are looked upon in an individual basis meaning that we offer the best product suited for each environment.

Here were 3 that stood out to us:

Project 1 – 253 Anti-ligature Radiator Covers over 9 Wards

One of the standout case studies from this year was our work across multiple hospitals for an NHS Trust in the Northwest, where a large safety and refurbishment programme required anti-ligature radiator guards tailored to sensitive ward environments.

•  Products delivered: 253 DeepClean Extra anti-ligature radiator guards

•  Applications: Installed across nine active inpatient wards on three hospital sites

•  Technical challenge: Work undertaken in live clinical spaces with minimal disruption, requiring bespoke sizing which included wall to wall and floor to ceiling anti-ligature radiator covers, secure fitting and full internal access for cleaning — all while protecting patients and staff. Our installation team had to overcome fitting issues whilst keeping to a tight programme. 

This project clearly demonstrates how Contour’s DeepClean Extra range combines safety, durability and ease of maintenance — key criteria for mental health, later-life care and learning disability environments.

Project 2 – Window Protector with Vent System and Integrated Blind

From our window protector range we installed our Inset Window Protector at an assessment and treatment centre in the West Midlands. This unit was for adolescents and at times could be volatile, meaning furniture and fixtures could be targeted and damaged. Contour were employed to survey, supply and install our Inset Window Protector to protect the double-glazed windows they had installed. The client also opted to use the vent to help control the airflow and the integrated blind, all in aid of increasing the comfort to the service user. 

They did have anti-ligature curtains but due to the service user pulling them down every day, they just leave them off, allowing light to flood the room as soon as the sun comes up.

We saw first hand how the service user operating the blind and what it meant to have the ability to make shut out the light and the impact that would have on her sleep.

Project 3 – Padded Radiator Covers for a Specialist Healthcare Unit.

Contour enhanced the safety of a property that looked after service users who not only have mental health needs, but also suffer from drop seizures.

The property previously didn’t have any protector for the radiators. The housing association that maintained the property could see the benefits a padded radiator guard would have for their service users and the peace of mind this would give the staff.

They chose cream as the padding colour which will enable them to spot any dirt that may need cleaning off and to fit in with the décor of the property.

Due to the design of the cover underneath being the DeepClean, they have access for cleaning and maintenance when they time comes which will speed up the time technicians and cleaners need to spend dealing with them.

When speaking to the manager after installation they thought they looked good, provided protection for if anyone fell on them and would look to be ordering more.
