As the doors closed on another fantastic Design in Mental Health event at Manchester Central, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who stopped by Stand 203, shared feedback, asked questions, and explored what we’ve been working on over the past year.

The response from the Contour team has been overwhelmingly positive - from the buzz on the show floor to the meaningful conversations with customers, NHS Trusts, designers and industry experts, this year’s event once again reinforced why DiMH is such a vital space for the sector.

Product Evolution, Shaped by Real-World Feedback

This year, we focused on showing how listening drives our design process.

Visitors to the stand were the first to see the latest generation of our Window Protector, now featuring an integrated blind system, improved ventilation design, and enhanced durability - all built around feedback from frontline teams. We also showcased updates across our DeepClean Extra LST range, including the MOJ-approved DeepClean Extra+, developed to meet the demands of custodial and secure mental health settings.

Our padded radiator cover, anti-ligature vent grilles, AC unit covers, and updated fire call point housings also sparked plenty of discussion, proving just how important tailored, tamper-resistant design continues to be across a wide range of environments.

Collaboration and Conversation

A key highlight from the show was the number of collaborative conversations that took place across the two days. From estates teams looking to reduce maintenance time, to architects specifying safer fitouts, and clinical staff discussing day-to-day challenges, every conversation fed into our ongoing mission to create products that genuinely meet the needs of those who use them.

We also had the opportunity to reconnect with our partners at BioCote® and Protects Plus, both of whom continue to play a vital role in how we deliver long-term safety, hygiene, and compliance through trusted solutions.

A New Look, Same Warm Welcome

Our stand this year was fully reimagined, reflecting not just our evolving product range but also our commitment to creating more open, accessible conversations. And while the layout may have changed, the Contour welcome remained the same, complete with our ever-popular ice cream station, which returned once again to keep the energy up during busy show days.

We were also delighted to host the Day 2 networking breakfast, giving delegates a chance to connect over coffee, pastries and conversation before the day began. It was a great way to kickstart the final day of the show - relaxed, informal and full of fresh ideas.
