TRV Valve Kits for LST Radiators

Specifying a TRV for a low surface temperature radiator is not the same as specifying one for an open panel. The valve, sensor and lockshield sit behind a casing, so the control arrangement has to suit who adjusts the temperature, where the sensor reads from, and how the system is balanced before the cover goes on. Contour's updated Danfoss TRV kit range brings those choices together in one place: external temperature adjustment, remote sensing and built-in sensor options, each supplied with the matching valve body, lockshield and Contour fixing kit. Every product group is offered as an RA-N version and as an RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ upgrade, so you can choose the control arrangement first, then decide whether dynamic balancing belongs on the schedule.

Choosing your kit in three steps

  • Decide who controls the temperature, and from where. External adjuster (staff or occupant, outside the casing), remote sensor (head inside, sensing outside) or built-in sensor (everything inside the casing).
  •
  • Choose your balancing method. RA-N with a lockshield for conventional balancing; RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ for pressure-independent flow limitation set at the valve.
  •
  • Confirm connections and access with our technical team so the kit, radiator and casing arrive as one specification — no retrofit surprises on site.

 External TRV Kits

  •  Replacement range for 9330-41 Standard External TRV Kit

  •
  •  For wards, classrooms and communal areas where the temperature needs adjusting without opening the radiator cover. The remote adjuster mounts on the outside of the LST casing and drives the valve inside through a capillary connection, so the adjustment point stays accessible while the valve, pipework and lockshield remain enclosed.

Danfoss_TRV_Kit_1

Remote temperature adjuster with RA-N valve

Combines a Danfoss RA 5062 remote temperature adjuster with an RA-N DN15 angle valve body, RLV-S DN15 angle lockshield and Contour fixing kit. The adjuster is fitted to the front or side of the casing at a height that suits the room's users, with the capillary routed to the valve behind the cover. Balancing is by lockshield in the conventional way.

Suited to installations where staff or occupants need day-to-day control of an enclosed radiator, and where a tamper-resistant or lockable adjustment point can be specified at casing level.

  •

Remote temperature adjuster with RA-DV valve

The dynamic balancing upgrade to Kit 1. Retains the RA 5062 remote adjuster and Contour fixing kit, and replaces the RA-N body with an RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ DN15 angle valve, supplied with lockshield.

  •
  • Maximum flow is preset at the valve, so the radiator is balanced as soon as the setting ring is adjusted — no separate balancing visit once the cover is fitted.

 Remote Sensor TRV Kits

  •  Replacement range for 7463-41 Internal TRV Kit With Remote Sensor

  •
  •  For installations where the thermostatic head sits inside the casing but the temperature must be sensed in the room, not the warm air pocket behind the cover. The remote sensor is mounted outside the enclosure, giving the head an accurate reading of the space it is controlling.
  •
Danfoss_TRV_Kit_3

Aero remote sensor with RA-N valve

Combines the Danfoss Aero remote sensor head (RA connection, 2 m capillary, 7–26 °C range) with an RA-N DN15 angle valve body, RLV-S DN15 angle lockshield and Contour fixing kit.

The head is fitted to the valve inside the casing; the sensor is positioned on the outside of the cover or on an adjacent wall, away from direct sunlight, draughts and the radiator's own convected air.

  •

Aero remote sensor with RA-DV valve

The dynamic balancing upgrade to Kit 3. Retains the Aero remote sensor arrangement and Contour fixing kit, and pairs it with an RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ DN15 angle valve body and lockshield. Room temperature is sensed outside the casing; flow is limited at the valve inside it.

Danfoss_TRV_Kit_4

 Standard TRV Kits

  •  Replacement range for 9210-13 Standard Internal TRV Kit

  •
  •  The simplest arrangement: a thermostatic head with built-in sensor fitted directly to the valve inside the radiator casing. Suited to plant-side or commercial installations where the setpoint is fixed at commissioning and occupant adjustment is not required.
  •
Danfoss_TRV_Kit_5

Aero RA built-in sensor with RA-N valve

Combines a Danfoss Aero RA head with built-in sensor (7–28 °C range) with an RA-N DN15 angle valve body, RLV-S DN15 angle lockshield and Contour fixing kit. Everything sits within the casing; adjustment is by removing the access panel.

  •

Aero RA built-in sensor with RA-DV valve

The dynamic balancing upgrade to Kit 5, pairing the same built-in sensor head with an RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ DN15 angle valve body and lockshield. Flow limitation is preset at the valve before the head is fitted and the cover closed.

 Standard TRV and Lockshield Packs

For radiators supplied without a Contour casing, or where a conventional 15 mm TRV and lockshield pack is all the schedule calls for.

Danfoss_TRV_Kit_7

RAS-C² Radiator Pack with RA-N valve

A standard 15 mm TRV and lockshield pack: Danfoss RAS-C² thermostatic head with built-in sensor, RA-N angle valve body and matching lockshield (Danfoss pack 013G6005).

  •
  •

RAS-C² Radiator Pack with RA-DV valve

The dynamic balancing upgrade to Kit 7, supplied as a 15 mm radiator pack: RAS-C² head, RA-DV Dynamic Valve™ body and RLV-D lockshield (Danfoss pack 013G7662).

For the specifier, that means a balanced system without a separate commissioning schedule, and a flow setting that can be recorded against each radiator on the drawing.

For the estates team, it means fewer cold-radiator callouts when the system changes around it.

Choose the corresponding RA-DV kit to add dynamic balancing to your selected control arrangement.
